Get Rid of Acne Scars

By Dr_Worm

All across the world about 80 percent of people will be affected by acne. It doesn't matter if your a king or a street sweeper, sooner or later you'll dance with acne. Left untreated acne will leave your face back and chest with scars.

If acne appears on your body, why wait to see a dermatologist? There is no reason to wait, we all hate doctors but it is for your benefit. See your doctor and see him as soon as possible.

Many over the counter products are available for both acne treatment and acne scar treatment. Lotions, gels, and creams are just a few of the items you may see on TV commercials and on the shelves at the local market. A dermatologist may prescribe the use of more than one treatment at a time, however this should only be done under doctors orders. Choosing to do so could result in negative side effects.

Not all over the counter drugs will help remove your acne or acne scars. Thankfully by seeing a doctor you will have a few more options. Some of those options are as follows:

Laser Treatment, Not too painful because a local anesthetic is in order. The process can be quick or last up to an hour. The skin will take time to heal so you can plan on being in the house for upwards of a week or so after the treatment.

Chemical peels, Another alternative to remove acne scars. They work great on shallow scars but will often require more than one session on deeper ice pick scares. Chemical peels have been known to cause a bit of pain and burning. If you have a low pain tolerance a chemical peel may not be for you.

Dermabrasion, This method is one of the most effective methods for removing acne scar tissue. While you are under an anesthetic a dermatologist will use a brush to remove scarred surface tissue. The deeper scars may still show after the treatment is done requiring more than one session.

Research, research, research! If you are intent on getting your acne scars removed, read until you find the best method to suit your needs. Take all factors into consideration, such as, skin tone, skin color, your life style, exposure to sun, age and the type of acne.
